Tea Tree Gully Lodge Nº 218 Donates to the Wynn Vale School

On the 16th September 2014, the Worshipful Master of Tea Tree Gully Lodge No. 218 presented a cheque for $1,136.00 to the Deputy Principal of the Wynn Vale School, Ms. Rebekah Goodall.
This was in response to a letter from the Special Needs Co-ordinator of the School, to get help for two students who are Autistic and have Negotiated Education Plans to accommodate their needs.
Children with Autism often require “breaks” between set lessons to encourage and help them to manage being in a class situation. The school has found that using iPads as a reward system, enables the children to have smaller amounts of lesson time with a break. Class lessons are often very stressful situations for children with Autism.
Using an iPad gives the ability to still be able to continue the learning process in a positive but a different way as there are many educational applications which can be downloaded for the iPad.
Currently the School has two iPads to share between seven students with disabilities, five of whom are Autistic and would like assistance with the purchase of two additional iPads to accommodate the two neediest students.
With the grateful assistance of the Freemasons Foundation, the Tea Tree Gully Lodge No. 218 donated $1,136.00 for the purchase of two iPads.
